NEW YORK - September 8, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -new record-breaking tourist arrivals from the United States were announced today by the Israel Ministry of Tourism. Israel received 78,000 visitors from the United States during July 2022 which was an increase of 4% over 2019 and 71,000 visitors from the United States during August 2022. That's a 13% increase over 2019.
"It is so thrilling to see yet another increase in tourist numbers to Israel from the United States, already reaching the record-breaking levels in 2019," said Eyal Carlin, Tourism Commissioner for North America. "The United States is our top market for inbound tourism for Israel. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, we had record-breaking numbers of tourists from Israel visiting Israel every month. We are thrilled to have witnessed an improvement in the trend, and we expect this trend to last throughout the months and years to come."
Canada is set to surpass Israel's tourist arrivals 7200 tourists are expected to visit Israel in July 2022 and 6,600 tourists in August.
Gal Hana, Consul to Canada and Director of Canada for Canada at the Israel Ministry of Tourism said that it was thrilling to see tourism from Canada to Israel returning. "We aren't far off our record for 2019 and we expect that the growth in travels to Israel will continue to grow as Canadians feel more confident traveling abroad."
Israel received more visitors from all over the world in the year 2019 than any other country. 969 600 were Americans. Israel's official opening for all travelers was May 2018. The country has welcomed more than 600,400 US travelers since then.
